-Can anyone tell me what the FIGC-equivalent of Argentina was smoking when they hired Maradona? Sure, he’s inspirational. Sure, he’s the country’s legend. But the guy has little-to-no coaching experience, and the little he had was pretty crappy. I feel a lot more secure about Italy’s chances in WC2010 with Dunga, Maradona, and Domenech leading [...]

Amauri was a classic JUVENTUS buy

Nov 15th, 2008 | Source: JuveTalk | Category: Latest Juventus blogs

As i was predicting when Juve signed him, Amauri is going to be one of the very top strikers in Europe, that many clubs would drool over. And it turns out to be true as Real Madrid supposedly wanted him in January for a massive fee, which they off course can just forget. We’ve seen it so many times before with Juventus, they buy smart, not those world known names, but those who are proven and ready to peak their career to the maximum in the Juve shirt, just as Amauri is doing right now.

JUVE in-form

Finally Juve scores before the first 30 minutes in a Serie A game in a very long time, and you see how it went, 4-1 against Genoa is a nice result. It was a joy to watch, you can clearly see the passion is back, also in audience ;)If they can continue like this (7 straight wins) against all odds, then no one can match Juve. We have a strong squad, that’s for sure.Ratings Juve- GenoaManninger - 7Grygera - 8Legrottaglie - 6.5 (those arms is beginning to be a little to much in the way)Chiellini - 7.5Molinaro - 7Marchionni - 6.5Sissoko - 6.5Tiago - 6Nedved - 7Amauri - 8Del Piero - 7Camoranesi - 7 (it is clearly to see what he means in the team when finally back, his technique is fantastic)Iaquinta - 7Giovinco - 6(Ranieri - 8 - made good changes, the team attacked a lot too.

So we have four days till the next game, incredible. Four days! That’s one more than usual. The good news is after taking on Genoa at home, we’ve got a good week-and-a-half break (in which there’s an international friendly) before the Derby d’Italia at the San Siro. I really hope Lippi leaves most of the [...]

With another fantastic free kick, no one on this earth does it better, and ever will do. Strategic Thoughts Before The Bernabeu

Nov 4th, 2008 | Source: Offside Juventus blog | Category: Latest Juventus blogs

First off, I gotta congratulate our boys on their victory against Roma. At times it was some of the nicest footy I’ve seen them play this year. Who would’ve guessed that when we played the ball along the ground to each other instead of long balls between our defense and attack, we could’ve achieved such a [...]
